1) I'm so old.
As in the moment I make a musical reference and someone younger than me has no idea what I am talking about. Or I went out with friends and around 12:30am I'm catch myself, thinking about my pajamas and my bed. Or I'm trying to figure out a new app, and someone younger than me figures it out in two steps.
2) The train will pass you by
If you have grown up Latino, there may have been references to "se te va pasar el tren", the train will pass you by usually referring to relationships or marriage, and that women were expected to be married by 30. Given that there's been some trolls on previous trains, I think its ok. I'll catch the next train.
3) Baby Fever is real
There have been moments when I pass by the baby section of target on the way to shoes, I see the tiny clothes and hats. Or a friend posts a baby picture on social media. Or the ultimate kryptonite of holding a baby. I'm not made of stone! I man c'mon look at that face!
4) My workouts don't "work" like they used to:
In my mid twenties I got serious about eating right and exercising with the occasional cheat week, because lets face it there is no such thing as a cheat "day". I would be able to lose weight pretty easily, and get back on track. Now it feels like it takes WAY more effort to maintain or lose weight.
5) Thirty, Flirty and Thriving
My twenties were filled with possibility, challenges and pivotal moments on the path to becoming. I am so grateful for the life I have now- living in San Francisco, working with amazing people, and the love of my family and friends. I embrace this next decade with an open heart and open mind. |
